The Embassy Theatre is pleased to announce open enrollment for its summer SCORE! 2018 program for middle-school students, including multiple scholarship opportunities. In its sixth year, the three-week devised musical theater workshop immerses students in all elements of theater. Devised theater is a term used to describe a mode of theater-making that does not begin with a script. Instead, students create a script by exploring the process of thematic and artistic exploration.

The scholarships, made possible by support from PNC Bank, will allow up to four students to enroll in the workshop with full tuition covered. Students who have completed grades 6, 7 or 8 and who have not previously participated in the SCORE! program, are encouraged to apply for either a need-based or a talent-based scholarship. Scholarship applications will be accepted until April 20. To download an application, visit the Embassy website at www.fwembassytheatre.org/education.

In addition, The Links organization is providing a scholarship opportunity and partial tuition scholarships are available. Information on all scholarships are available on the Embassy Theatre’s website.

The SCORE! 2018 workshop will take place July 9-29. During the three weeks, the students will incorporate play-writing, drama, music, production and technical arts, culminating with a performance on the legendary Embassy stage.

“Over the past five years, SCORE! has provided hundreds of students the chance to explore their inner artistic potential,” said Maggie Hunter, Embassy education manager. “Fort Wayne’s arts and cultural scene is being enriched by the talents of our region’s youth.”

Up to 25 students can enroll in the SCORE! program. Tuition is $450 until April 20. Tuition on April 21 is $550, until June 10 or until capacity is reached. Enrollment forms are available for download at www.fwembassytheatre.org/education.
