The Color Purple On The Embassy Stage In April

Three Performances Rescheduled From March

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Feb. 16, 2021) – Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Color Purple shows presented by Indiana Performing Arts Theatre on the Embassy stage that were scheduled in March have been moved to April.

All tickets will be honored for the new dates:

Sat., March 27, 3 p.m.—MOVED TO—Sat., April 24, 3 p.m.

Sat., March 27, 7:30 p.m.—MOVED TO—Sat., April 24, 7:30 p.m.

Sun., March 28, 4 p.m.—MOVED TO—Sun., April 25, 4 p.m.

The Embassy staff are available to answer questions and apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. Ticket holders unable to attend can request a refund for 30 days. Any Embassy or purchases using a credit or debit card can be digitally refunded. Any refund request may take up to a month to process. If patrons purchased tickets with cash or a gift card, they are asked to contact the Embassy by phone at this time. Please note that the Embassy cannot refund tickets that were purchased through other channels such as secondary ticket sellers.

The legendary Broadway musical The Color Purple explains the life of Celie, a teenage girl who is given by her stepfather to an abusive husband. She tries to remain hopeful that she will ultimately be reunited with her sister Nettie and her children Adam and Olivia. Through her string of unfortunate events, Celie learns that the most important thing is…she is a survivor, and that no matter what happens to her, she is still here. A lively score featuring jazz, ragtime, gospel, African music and blues. The musical features eventful dance scenes, extraordinary lighting effects, and soulful singing. Nominated for eleven 2006 Tony Awards® and 2016 for Best Revival of a Musical.

COVID-19 Protocols: In accordance with the statewide mask mandate, we require patrons and guests to wear a mask, face covering, or face shield upon entry to the Embassy Theatre. Patrons may remove their facial coverings ONLY while enjoying food and drink (at a table, when seated in the theater or another seated location in the facility). All events have limited capacity. The Embassy has thorough protocols and staff training in place to reduce exposure to COVID-19. Please expect timed entry, social distancing and socially distanced assigned seating, face coverings on our staff and vendors, one-way traffic patterns, paperless and touchless interactions whenever possible and rigorous cleaning and sanitizing. Individuals 65 years of age and older or those in high-risk categories are encouraged to not attend the event. Patrons are asked to assess their health before arriving and stay home if ill or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Any patrons who arrive at the Embassy ill or displaying symptoms of COVID-19 will be sent home. While the Embassy works hard to reduce exposure to COVID-19, the public is assuming the inherent risk of possible exposure.
