Embassy Theatre Announces Inaugural "Novel Idea: A Bookish Affair"

New literary event invites book lovers to shop, sip and spend an evening surrounded by stories.

Fort Wayne, Ind. (July 9, 2026) – The Embassy Theatre is inviting readers from across northeast Indiana to the inaugural Novel Idea: A Bookish Affair, a new event celebrating books, local businesses and the joy of reading. The event will take place Friday, August 21, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. throughout the Embassy Theatre Lobby, Hotel Lobby and Ballroom.

Designed as an evening destination for book lovers, Novel Idea combines the charm of an independent bookstore with the elegance of the historic Embassy Theatre. Guests can browse books and literary merchandise from local bookstores and specialty vendors, enjoy coffee, cocktails and mocktails, and unwind in a dedicated Quiet Reading Lounge.

Participating bookstores will include Half Price Books, Moss Heart Books, and Sunbound Booksalong with additional local vendors offering book-inspired gifts and merchandise.

Admission is $5. Tickets go on sale today, and are available online at fwembassytheatre.org and Ticketmaster, or in person at the STAR Bank Box Office at the Embassy Theatre, 125 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne.
