2022 Tony Winner Matt Doyle Performs at Embassy Fundraiser This May

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Feb 24, 2023) – The Embassy Theatre will host its annual Marquee Gala featuring Tony award winner Matt Doyle on Thursday, May 4, at 5:30 p.m. The event is a unique Embassy fundraiser that brings Broadway stars to the stage in Fort Wayne for an intimate evening of music and camaraderie.

As a non-profit organization, the Embassy relies on memberships as well as patron and donor support to thrive in the community. This event is particularly special as it delivers Broadway talent on the historic stage where the attendees also sit on stage to enjoy the performance. In addition to the traditional opportunity to support the mission of the Embassy during the fundraising presentation that evening, there will be two new ways to support the organization this year:

At the event, attendees can choose to Fund A Need, whether it be a full scholarship to the Embassy’s SCORE! education musical theater intensive or a microphone for the stage. There will be many needs at a wide range of price points. Also, the organization will include a Wine Pull. For a $25 donation, guests will be able to take home a bottle of wine to enjoy after the event.

As a part of the Marquee Gala this year, the Embassy will be offering the “Matt Doyle Experience” the evening before the fundraiser to 30 hand-selected students in northeast Indiana. This will offer a once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunity with award-winning Broadway talent.

Matt Doyle is a 2022 Tony Award winner for his performance as ‘Jamie’ in the Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Company, for which he also won the Outer Critics Circle Award, Drama Desk Award and Drama League Award. He currently plays the lead role of ‘Seymour Krelborn’ in Little Shop of Horrors at the Westside Theatre in New York City. Other Broadway credits include Tony-winning Musicals The Book of Mormon (in the lead role of ‘Elder Price’) and Spring Awakening; ‘Best Play’ winner War Horse; and the revival of the beloved musical comedy Bye Bye Birdie. Doyle has performed at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops, at symphonies across the country, and continues to headline a sold-out solo show throughout New York City.

Tickets can be purchased for this one-of-a-kind, exquisite Broadway experience at the STAR Bank box office at the Embassy by calling 260.424.5665. Single tickets are $300 each (or $2500 for a sponsored table), which includes hosted bar service and a grazing dinner. Doyle’s performance will begin at 8 p.m., followed by a meet and greet with the star alongside desserts in the theater lobby. Limited number of tickets available.
