Help Us Finish the Windows Campaign Strong!
Dedicated leaders and community members worked tirelessly to save the Embassy in the 1970s and bring its luster back for generations to come.
Fans of the Embassy are intrigued by the historical significance of this beautiful venue…a true Fort Wayne icon. Upkeep and preservation for a nearly 100-year-old building brings a unique set of challenges and ongoing maintenance. In recent years, the Embassy replaced every window in the building in compliance with historic guidelines. The last step was finishing the street side windows on the first floor that included important facade details and specialized work.
Goal for first floor windows project: $541,919
Current Raised: $496,600
Benefits of the restored windows for the Embassy:
- This work sealed and protected the building interior from the perils of water penetration and weather.
- Energy-efficient window structures help reduce heating and cooling costs.
- Restoration reinforces the structural integrity and original copper trim work.
- One of Fort Wayne’s nationally registered historic landmarks is preserved for generations to come!
