Presentation by Austin Rausch
Austin M. Rausch is based in Fort Wayne, Indiana and is the Assistant Professor of Theatre in Costume Design at Purdue University Fort Wayne. Austin has a Bachelor of Arts in Costume Design from St. Edward’s University (2012) in Austin, Texas and a Master of Fine Arts in Costume Design from The Pennsylvania State University (2019). Austin notable design credits include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Love Talker, Cabaret, Urinetown the Musical, Little Women the Broadway Musical, The Tempest, among many others, all for Purdue University Fort Wayne. Additionally, he often works at Bigfork Summer Playhouse from May to July as Costume Shop Manager and Costume Designer. There, he has designed Something Rotten!, The Addams Family, and Footloose. In addition to costume design, Austin has experience in draping, tailoring, corsetry, millinery, and costume crafts. In fact, Austin worked in the Costume Crafts Department at the Los Angeles Opera on a new opera collaboration with The Metropolitan Opera, Eurydice (adapted from Sarah Ruhl’s play and directed by Mary Zimmerman). Austin is an interdisciplinarian theatre artist with a background in acting, and has directed Black Snow (adapted from Russian novelist Mikhail Bulgakov) at Purdue University Fort Wayne in 2023.

Presentation by Miriam Morgan
Miriam Morgan is the VP of Operations & COO for Arts United, the local arts agency in Fort Wayne. Indiana, operating four facilities and venues downtown and leads the operations of the organization’s facilities and venues. Through her work, she has guided or led the capital project efforts of various performing arts spaces, including the current $41M modernization and expansion of the Arts United Center venue, focused on technology, innovation, and universal design principles. She prioritizes supporting engaging, immersive, and memorable experiences for visitors, creatives, and participants of all backgrounds and abilities. Her background includes three decades in the performing arts as a practicing theatre technician, lighting designer, and technical director in numerous venues and she holds memberships in national theatre and technical production organizations where she has lectured on venue management, historic preservation, entertainment technology, and guest experience.

Presentation by John O'Connell
John received his MFA in stage directing from the University of Alabama after spending 13 years in NYC as a producer, stage manager and director. John is currently a professor of theatre and dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue Fort Wayne. PFW directing credits include, Waiting for Godot, Wonderful Town, Noises Off!, The Taming of the Shrew, King Lear and All My Sons, to name a few. John recently directed Noises Off! and previously directed The Full Monty for the Civic Theatre and numerous productions for 1st Presbyterian Theater and FW Youtheatre. Professional productions include Barefoot in the Park for American Stage Company (ASC) in St. Petersburg, FL.
