Embassy Announces Buddy Nolan Memorial Concert and Black & White Silent Film Series Tickets are available Friday, December 23

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Dec. 22, 2022)- The Embassy Theatre is excited to announce five events in 2023 that celebrate the wonder of the Grande Page pipe organ. These shows are scheduled May through August 2023 and are presented by the Embassy Theatre. Attendees will be transported back to the earliest days of entertainment when the magnificent pipe organ mesmerized crowds and when silent films filled the screen as the melodious tunes and sound effects of the organ accompanied the projected Hollywood stories. The featured films were selected from a century ago.

The Grande Page events are as follows:

Saturday, May 20, 7:30 p.m.  Buddy Nolan Memorial Concert; featuring organist Dave Wickerham

Sunday, June 11, 3 p.m. The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923) starring Lon Chaney; organ accompaniment by Clark Wilson

Sunday, June 25, 3 p.m. Our Hospitality (1923) starring Buster Keaton; organ accompaniment by Cletus Goens
PLUS short film One Week (1920) starring Buster Keaton; organ accompaniment by Cletus Goens

Sunday, July 16, 3 p.m. The Ten Commandments (1923) starring Theodore Roberts; organ accompaniment by Clark Wilson

Sunday, August 6, 3 p.m. Why Worry? (1923) starring Harold Lloyd; organ accompaniment by Clark Wilson
PLUS short film Bumping Into Broadway (1919) starring Harold Lloyd; organ accompaniment by Clark Wilson

The Grande Page, installed in 1928, is one of only three organs of its kind. Its enticing tones bring silent film to life by emulating multiple instruments and other recognizable sounds like sirens, train whistles and chirping birds.
