Embassy Employee, Mark McKinney, Receives Hoosier Hospitality Award
Fort Wayne, Ind. (Dec 13, 2022) – The Embassy Theatre is proud to announce that long-time employee, Mark McKinney, box office assistant manager, has been selected as a winner of the prestigious Hoosier Hospitality Award.
Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch gave the Hoosier Hospitality Award to 16 Hoosiers in the hospitality and tourism industry who have a reputation for excellent customer service and welcoming visitors consistently with a warm Hoosier attitude. The Lt. Governor presented the award to McKinney on Thursday, December 8, at a ceremony in Indianapolis.
McKinney was nominated by Kevin Boughton, box office manager, and Mary Jo Hardiman, chief operating officer, who believed that McKinney was deserving of the recognition. “Mark takes great care and time with patrons and has a way of connecting them to the Embassy and others in the community. For Mark, Hoosier hospitality is more than a coined slogan, it is a way of life,” said Hardiman.
McKinney is an important face of the organization who helps ticketholders, members, Broadway subscribers, volunteers and the community every day. His ability to connect with others and go the extra mile creates memorable interactions that allow the Embassy to be a welcoming gathering place for all. Every person is important to him, and his natural talent for remembering personal details and engaging with others has strengthened the Embassy box office experience.
“I was completely surprised when I first learned that I had won this award that I couldn’t find the right words to say,” said McKinney. “Customer service has been a core strength of mine, and I thank my family for instilling good values in me at a young age – to always treat those as you would like to be treated yourself and to always smile! I also thank Kevin and Mary Jo for nominating me for this honorable award, and the rest of the Embassy staff for being awesome and amazing to work alongside on a daily basis.”
The organization congratulates Mark McKinney for his 14 years of service and for receiving this important honor.
