Embassy Theatre Presents The Adventures of Tortoise and Hare The Next Gen Program includes Learn It Live education and public performances

Fort Wayne, Ind. (September 15, 2022) – The Embassy Theatre presents Lightwire Theatre’s The Adventures of Tortoise and Hare The Next Gen as a public performance on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. This event goes on sale to the public on Friday, September 16 at 10 a.m. This show is an extension of the Embassy’s ongoing education programming efforts.

The story begins with Aesop’s classic fable of The Tortoise and the Hare but continues the story which finds them 10 years down the road, now with children of their own and exploring modern-day distractions. Smartphones and video games create a new landscape of lost connections to life experiences. The Next Gen features Tortoise Junior and Lil’ Hare in a whole new kind of race where their adventures lead them into unexpected territory. Old man Tortoise and Big Daddy Hare must come together despite their differences to find and save their children. What hurdles will they have to overcome to make it to the finish line? With dazzling visuals, poignant storytelling and the creative use of music from classical to pop, this production brings this tale into a new brilliant light.

The Embassy annually hosts free Learn It Live programs that are developed to offer creative art content for educators and students throughout the region. Learn It Live performances allow young audiences to become familiar with the historic theater as well as to experience live artistic presentations. For the 2022-2023 school year the Embassy is offering three in-person programs and one virtual streaming option. To learn more, please visit: http://fwembassytheatre.org/learn-it-live/.

Educators interested in more information should reach out to the Embassy’s education manager, Maggie Hunter at maggie@fwembassytheatre.org.
