Ball State University Showcase concert featuring Canadian Brass
April 8, 2018
Show Time: 3:00 pm
The world-renowned brass quintet Canadian Brass will perform with Ball State University’s Jazz Lab Ensemble and Wind Ensemble. With a discography of over 130 albums and an extensive world-wide touring schedule, Canadian Brass is an important pioneer in bringing brass music to mass audiences everywhere. The hallmark of any Canadian Brass performance is entertainment, spontaneity, virtuosity and, most of all, fun – but never at the expense of the music.
The Jazz Lab Ensemble will also be joined by Broadway singer and Ball State alumna Kayla Davion. Davion recently landed a part in the ensemble of the Broadway musical “Waitress” and is the understudy for the character Dawn.
Fort Wayne’s own North Side High School Jazz Ensemble will open the concert.
A free Canadian Brass lecture demonstration will occur prior to the concert at 1:15 p.m. Lecture attendees should have their concert tickets in possession for entrance.
