SANKOFA: LIVE VIRTUAL PERFORMANCE AT THE EMBASSY

February 20, 2021

Show Time: 7:00 pm

Price: $10

Looking to support local art from the comfort of your home this winter? The Embassy Theatre is bringing the music to you featuring some of the areas best local bands on our stage.

Sankofa’s just your average, run of the mill, Australian born, dual citizenship having, language loving, world traveling, Fort Wayne representing, music with down to earth and talented friends making, heard on projects from Sweden, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, New Zealand, Germany, Japan, randomly dropping merch because it’s fun to flip logos, happily invisible undercover because you’d never know it by looking at him, dope rapper. With a penchant for diving off the deep end, not to forget into the slippery Freimann Square fountain after climbing trees, with extra live live performances, Sankofa is driven to have fun. Keep in mind, this is a guy who forever takes his craft, yet rarely himself, seriously.  Sankofa is that Del, Open Mike Eagle, Souls of Mischief, Sidewalk Chalk, Doodlebug from Digable Planets, MC Frontalot show opener you may not have noticed until it’s time to rock a mic. With influences running the gamut from Big Daddy Kane to the criminally underrated Casual, Sankofa keeps it moving, determined to keep honing his craft and holding it down for Fort Wayne. As Mic Geronimo once said, “it’s time to build.”

2020 saw him releasing three projects, Glyde Drexler (with production from El Keter, Franz Branntwein, and phd beats), Weird Summer (prod. by wingclipper), and 313260 (produced by Chef Mike and released via Common and Normal Records.) in addition to Sankofa hats, socks, and shirts. 2021 will bring forth projects like The Most Delicious Gold (produced by Burnt Bakarak, slated for a March release), BLKTCHP (produced by phd beats), and plenty more, even perhaps a long-rumored mythical box set with CDs, tapes, vinyl, lions, and tigers, oh my.

Catch him on Instagram @sankofafw, and Facebook /sankofafw. Want to snag his tunes beyond traditional digital outlets? sankofa.bandcamp.com

Can’t make the live event? Look for a video on demand option starting Feb. 24.

*A service fee will be added to this transaction.
