The Dead Pickers Society set out to honor and celebrate the music that has touched us deeply. At first we participated in the unwritten handing down of familiar and timeless bluegrass and old time melodies. But during the course of our first full year of entertaining, it has evolved into a deeper dive into the stylings of Tony Rice, Earl Scruggs, JD Crowe, Lester Flatt, Doc Watson and countless other heroes we’ve not forgotten. Always a pursuit and never a final destination, with a little TDPS flair added in for the irony and the fun.
