Join the Embassy Theatre as it celebrates the magic of great silent films that mesmerized onlookers 100 years ago! Attendees will be transported back to the earliest days of Hollywood when silent films were projected on the screen as the melodious tunes of the pipe organ filled the theater. The first film in this series is The Hunchback of Notre Dame featuring Lon Chaney with Grande Page Pipe organ accompaniment by organist Clark Wilson. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is based on the 1831 novel by Victor Hugo. This classic film, set in medieval Paris, is a beloved story of the courage and bravery of deaf and deformed bell ringer, Quasimodo, who falls in love. This is one of Lon Chaney's most popular performances earning him prestigious recognition and catapulting his career.
