Patrons will enjoy performances in the ballroom with access to the rooftop patio which highlights a spectacular view of the city. The live music is piped up to the rooftop so that guests don’t miss a thing.

Sankofa + Dap One – June 1 | Signature Embassy Drink: Frozen Mimosa
Sankofa’s just your average, run of the mill, Australian born, dual citizenship having, language loving, world traveler. He is a guy who forever takes his craft, yet rarely himself, seriously. Sankofa is that Del, Souls of Mischief, Sidewalk Chalk, Doodlebug from Digable Planets, MC Frontalot show opener you may not have noticed until it’s time to rock a mic.

With influences running the gamut from Big Daddy Kane to the criminally underrated Casual, Sankofa keeps it moving, determined to keep honing his craft and holding it down for Fort Wayne. As Mic Geronimo once said, “it’s time to build.”

Julie Hadaway – June 8 | Signature Embassy Drink: Frojito (Frozen Mojito)
“I love singing! As the years go by, it has less to do with the music and more to do with the people. It is amazing to watch the mood of the room shift because of a song or to watch people tapping their feet or dancing in their chairs. The thing I appreciate the most is all of the wonderful people I have met along this journey. Many of them have become like family to me; and for that, I am eternally grateful!”
At the end of the day, Julie wants to be the small difference that allows and encourages others to make large differences in the world. She wants to be the voice in the song or in the lecture that whispers, “Yes, you can.” It doesn’t matter if she is on stage, in a classroom or behind a screen…Julie is forever a teacher and a student. As she says, “Life is good.”

Funayūrei + DEEJAYSIX – June 15 | Signature Embassy Drink: Frozen Mango Daiquiri
Funayūrei formed September 2018 in Fort Wayne by Mandy Kawa and Rob Parker. At the time, both individuals had bands of their own. What started as a quick collaboration very swiftly turned into a full-length album. In May 2019, their debut album Liminal was released, combining sounds taking a clear influence from eighties electronic music and beyond. The album released to positive acclaim and found a way to create a sound that spoke to fans of synthwave and retrowave, yet somehow didn’t quite fit into those boxes.

After a number of live gigs in support of the album, work continued. In spite of the 2020 pandemic, Funayūrei pressed onwards in the studio. The following year saw the release of the duo’s sophomore album Not Forever, But for Now in August 2021. The album refined and pushed their sound into new yet familiar territories.

Individual tickets for all events in this series are currently on sale. Tickets cost only $5 (plus any applicable ticketing fees) and are available at the STAR Bank box office (260.424.5665) or through www.ticketmaster.com, www.fwembassytheatre.org and through links below.
