Buddy Nolan Memorial Concert Featuring Fort Wayne Native Organist, Mark Herman

Fort Wayne, Ind. (February 7, 2022) – The Embassy Theatre announces a “grande” celebration of the beloved Grande Page pipe organ as Mark Herman is welcomed to the stage to perform a tribute to the late organist extraordinaire, Buddy Nolan. The concert will take place on Sunday, May 1, at 3 pm.

Featuring favorite tunes from the Great American Songbook and other Broadway shows, Mark Herman brings the Grande Page to life while entertaining audiences of all ages. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Mark Herman has been involved with the Embassy and its unique instrument since he was a young man. Buddy Nolan, an integral part of the Embassy’s history, was a much-loved organist known for his midnight organ concerts that would bring crowds of people downtown at midnight to be a part of the audience.

The Embassy is thrilled to have Herman host this event in honor of one of his predecessors. He’s coming back home to support the venue that introduced him to the Grande Page, his first organ. “It’s all about putting on a great organ show in the grand fashion that made Buddy Nolan a Fort Wayne icon”, Mark Herman commented, “I was fortunate to know his friends who banded together with him to save the Embassy and carry his vision forward. Nolan was legendary for his ability to captivate an audience with a varied show and commanding stage presence, and he would be proud of how far the theatre has come from the days when he was playing midnight concerts after the last movie of the evening.”
